How It Started
Fifteen Years in the Making
Wilderness Roamers grew out of fifteen years of guiding across Botswana's most remote ecosystems. What began as a single vehicle and a handful of guests has become a small, deliberate operation built around one principle: fewer guests, deeper experiences.
We've never chased volume. Our expeditions are capped at eight guests — sometimes four on photographic trips — because we believe the quality of a wildlife encounter is inversely proportional to the size of the crowd watching it.
Every itinerary we run is shaped by the season, the water levels, and what the bush is doing right now. We don't run fixed departures on a calendar. We run expeditions when the conditions are right.

People Who Know This Land
Our guides are not generalists. Each one has spent years in a specific ecosystem and brings a depth of knowledge that no textbook can replicate.

Our Commitment
Leave It Wilder Than You Found It
Every expedition we run contributes directly to conservation in the areas we operate. Five percent of every booking goes to community-based natural resource management programmes in the Okavango and Chobe regions.
We operate under strict low-impact protocols: no off-road driving outside designated areas, no feeding wildlife, no approaching animals on foot without a qualified walking guide. We brief every guest before departure and hold ourselves to the same standards we ask of them.
Botswana's wilderness is not a backdrop. It is the reason we exist. Protecting it is not a marketing line — it is the only way this business makes sense long-term.
